Your Very Own Triptico Assistant!
I have had a very busy few weeks, working on lots of new features for the Triptico website and resources.
The biggest change is the new assistant which I hope will make creating new activities easier than ever.
It has lots of helpful features, such as allowing you to select a specific resource to create an activity for:
If you are creating for a specific resource then the assistant will help you, ensuring that you create enough cards for example:
Of course, you can still open the activity with lots of other resources but the assistant will ensure that the activity will work perfectly with the resource you specify.
Highlighting Resources
Another helpful new feature: if you do specify a resource then it will be highlighted when opening the activity.
In the example below, I specified the Find Them resource when creating my Facts about Shakespeare activity.
So, when I click to open the file, the Find Them resource is highlighted and the first to be displayed - no more wondering which resource I intended to use the activity with!
Moreover, if you open an activity created by another user then the resource that they intended to use it with will be highlighted for you too. Very helpful!
A Short Video
The assistant will ask other questions too - such as whether you intend to use images in your activity. If you click yes then the ‘Add Images’ buttons will be displayed for you automatically - a simple feature designed to save you time!
You can even ask the assistant to create the content for your activity for you!
Whilst testing the assistant before adding it to the website I was able to create lots of different activities on lots of different topics in seconds.
Here is a short video showing the assistant in use - it is available for you to try on the website and so please send me any feedback that you have if you are able to give it a go:
New Features for the Spinner and Group Resource
I have added a new button to the Spinner resource which allows you to instantly swap the displayed content - in the example below I am able to switch between English and Spanish at the press of a button:
I have also added a simple tutorial to the Group resource to let new users know how to create groups and how to then make selections from within those groups:
I also noticed that the Import Data panels could be little narrow when viewed in some browsers and so I have fixed this issue too.
User Guide Update
With all of these changes, I have updated the User Guide - for example, it now includes information about the new Image Library that I introduced in a previous newsletter:
I hope that all of these changes will be helpful and that the new assistant will make creating, saving, opening and sharing Triptico activities even easier than ever.
It has been a lot of work and so please - if you are able to give it a try - let me know what you think of this update.
Thanks as ever for supporting Triptico,
David
